We’re pleased to announce that we have now released the Genesis Web Wallet! We hope that you find it easy to use and most importantly, useful. To use the wallet, go to

Right now, the wallet is only available to Desktop users with a browser compatible with MetaMask. You must also have MetaMask installed for the wallet to work, otherwise you won’t be able to use it.

Our web wallet right now needs MetaMask to work and acts as an interface. If you are using a Desktop PC, you can download the MetaMask extension. In the future it may be possible to use MetaMask on other devices such as tablets and phones but right now this is not possible

How to get the Genesis Web Wallet to work:

  1. Install the MetaMask extension
  2. Create a MetaMask wallet
  3. Add the Genesis token to MetaMask. Follow this guide here.
  4. Go to Make sure you are signed in to MetaMask.
  5. You should now see your Eth Balance and GEN Balance.

The web wallet right now is not a dedicated wallet. That means that you do not need to download or install the Genesis Web Wallet as it works in your browser. As our web wallet is working with MetaMask, you need a MetaMask account in order to interact with it. From our web wallet, you can not create a new wallet address. That has to be done through MetaMask.

The reason why our web wallet is extremely important is because MetaMask is one of the most secure wallets currently available. Not only that, but it also adds another layer of security when interacting with the ethereum blockchain, such as when using EtherDelta for example. However while you can add and receive tokens to your MetaMask wallet, you can not send tokens.

To send tokens from a MetaMask wallet, you would normally have to use a third-party interface such as MyEtherWallet. Our web wallet removes this step and allows you to send GEN without having to use another site. That means you can stay on our site and receive and send tokens with minimum fuss. The only thing you need to do is make sure you’re signed in to MetaMask.
